I greeted the new year of 2012 hunched over my PC trying too resuscitate it after some kind massive booting problem. In the end I had to reinstall Windows 7 (AGAIN!!). I’m starting to regret not wiping my Solid State Drive before the reinstalling because it salvaged some of my old files and now I don’t know whats on the drive and whats not, or where things are launching from. But at the very least, the problem wasn’t attributed to the motherboard shorted out as the PC tech hypothesized.
But thats not what I wanted to talk about. I thought while I wait for shit to install, I’ll do as I did last post and list off some of my new years resolutions.
Anyone who knows me will tell you that I play a lot of video games. But ever since I discovered Team Fortress 2 in 2008 and even worse fell in love with Minecraft earlier this year I haven’t played through nearly as many games as I think I should. But Thats not the embarrassing part…..no it isn’t; the embarrassing part is this hasn’t stopped me from buying more games (DAMN YOU STEAM SALES). Every time There was a game I thought about wanting was slashed to $5 I’d buy it, knowing full well I may never get around to it because I dedicate an average of 20 hours a week to TF2, Minecraft or just pointless browsing on Wikipedia.
Two or Three years ago I had built myself what I believed myself to be, an mighty gaming PC. The friend that helped me pick the parts assured me that it would still be regarded as powerful rig for years to come. And since then I had upgraded it further thinking I’d get even more performance and reliability out of my beloved, bespoke gaming PC.
But in reality, often its a broken, stuttering box that couldn’t give anything Dell makes a run for its money.
Just now I learned That CNN’s Anderson Cooper now has a new syndicated daytime talk show, which is (obviously) called, Anderson.
How much does American News have too SUCK before one of it’s best journalists has too take up a second job??
I don’t know how many zeros was in the number on Anderson’s multi-year contract; but if you ask me I would be utterly humiliated if I went from the primary anchor and respected face of one the biggest News Networks in the world, covering significant global events often ON LOCATION!! to hosting an American day time talk show, competing for ratings with Ellen DeGeneres.
He’s interviewed some of the most powerful and influential people in our era, now he’s quizzing an troubled couple about their past infidelities.
Since discovering the show Top Gear last year and finding out I have a passion for cars. I’ve been building a list in my head of what cars I would love to own. Naturally it has become for the most part an list of impossibilities because all these cars are either far too expensive, really rare, hard to import to Canada, only comes in manual (too which I don’t know how to use), or wouldn’t be allowed on public roads at all. But in the interest of fun lets ignore to those small little details and dream big.
To help fill in the gaps, here’s a review I wrote last year but didn’t post anywhere. Its on 2008′s Prince of Persia for the Xbox 360.
Back in 2008 when Prince of Persia came out I was quite interested, I had always wanted to play the Prince of Persia games from the last generation, but never got around to playing them. My excitement grew more and more when it was revealed that this Prince of Persia would be a reboot of the series, distinct from the other three games, which freed me from the obligation of catching up. The game was also recommended to me by a friend as well, saying I would drink in game’s pseudo cell shaded aesthetic, so it’s always been on my radar. Sadly it took me two years to sit down and play it, even though I had owned the game for a year already. But now that I’ve finally played through the Prince of Persia, the first thing I can say about this game is this…..
Pardon the lack of the posts, it is discouraging to login only to find that all the comments are about deals on diet supplements and cheap designer handbags. At least all these spammers does skew Google Analytics.
Since Nintendo revealed Mario Kart 3DS at E3 last June, I’ve been thinking about what I want and don’t want too see in this and more importantly, the eventual Wiiu addition to the Mario Kart series. I’ll try to make it short, but I know I will be elaborating on many of them.
